My name is Kira, and I am 35 years old. The earliest memory I have of an image capable of leaving an instant mark on me goes back to my father’s old vinyl records. Those covers, their compositions, their creatures, and their atmospheres were my first encounters with images capable of telling a story before even hearing the music.

Later came comics, notably the work of Lee Bermejo, then genre cinema, horror and science fiction films, metal, and an entire visual universe where the image can become visceral, dark, heavy, and brutal. It is this sensation that I seek to transcribe today through my visuals. Creatures, bodies, textures, and atmospheres that don’t just seek to be looked at, but to leave an imprint.

I am particularly honored to join Maison Chat Noir and to be able to participate in this adventure. Through the clothing and the communities we work with, I hope to be able to contribute my own stone to the edifice and help create pieces that have as much character as those who wear them. I don’t do this to be the best, I do it to be true. So that what I create remains when I am no longer here.
